Morrow Creek Farm, LLC
In 1994 we bought an 85 acre portion of a bankrupt dairy farm at auction, and planted our first 1000 raspberry canes (Red Heritage and Fall Gold) in 1996. In ensuing years we've planted other varieties, including Prelude and Encore. Now our favorite is the Prelude variety which yield luscious berries beginning in the third week of June and bear fruit almost continuously until the first hard frost. Have our berries for dessert at some of the areas finest restaurants. Or you are invited to stroll along our acres of rows to pick your own. We also grow vegetables like heirloom tomatoes, colorful peppers, squash, peas, beans, horseradish, tomatillo, and eggplant, as well as herbs like basil, parsley, thyme, oregano, lemon balm, horseradish, etc.
If you purchased raspberry canes from us at the Cooperative Extension Plant Sale in May, please see our updated guide to the care of the berry canes.
We allow picking only on dry days, after all dew is off the plants. We wait at least two hours after a rain before we resume picking. There is no smoking on the farm because Raspberries are susceptible to Tobacco Mosaic Virus. You'll be picking in a farm field—please dress appropriately. We advise you to wear a hat, sneakers and socks, loose fitting slacks, etc. and use sunscreen and insect repellent. Children must be well supervised by their parents/guardians.
